Meet Dr. Jaclyn Amaro - chiropractor
Dr. Amaro is an integrative chiropractic physician who combines her experience across chiropractic care, acupuncture and functional nutrition to enhance her patient’s lifestyles through mindfulness and health.
With over a decade of hands on experience working with patients throughout Chicago and New York, Dr. Amaro has been on the cutting edge of healthy living advocacy and is proud to take over The Center for Preventive Healthcare, one of Chicago’s leading integrated wellness centers founded by Dr. Soheila Vahabi.
Dr. Amaro obtained her Doctorate in Chiropractic Medicine from National University of Health and Science where she graduated with highest honors and was distinguished as the salutatorian. In effort to offer her patients a unique and integrated approach to musculoskeletal and alternative patient care, she has pursued certifications in Active Release Technique (ART), the Webster Technique, Acupuncture and nutrition.
Her professional experience includes post-graduate training with a NFL team chiropractor at La Palestra in New York City, treating professional, college, and recreational athletes, tri-athletes, and semi-professional runners. Dr. Amaro also works extensively with patients to develop bespoke wellness plans that incorporates functional nutrition. With community as core value, Dr. Amaro also attempts to find opportunities to give back and has volunteered with Natural Doctors International in Nicaragua.
As a former competitive figure skater and World Silver Medalist in Synchronized Skating for Miami University in Ohio, Dr. Amaro knows the first-hand benefits of chiropractic and acupuncture for competitive athletes and every day health.
Dr. Amaro and her husband enjoy being back in their hometown of Chicago spending time with family and friends. She is an avid yogi and dog mom to her energetic vizsla, Miles.
meet Hannah - office manager
Hannah is our wonderful office manager. She is the friendly face you see when you first enter the office. If you have any insurance or billing questions, she is the one to ask! Coming from a background in sales and the medical field, she is excited to now be on the Centered Chicago team. Her favorite part of working here is watching patients get better and better. If you ever want to make Hannah smile, just show her a picture of a pug or quote Monty Python’s “The Holy Grail”. Hannah is a runner, singer and plays guitar.
MEET MONICA - yoga instructor
Monica is known for her lighthearted attention to detail and commitment to the growth of her students. Connecting individuals to the practice through intellectual sequencing and compassionate alignment instruction. Monica was certified to teach yoga and meditation through Himalayan Yoga and Meditaion Center in 2013. She has since taught extensively throughout Chicago and northern Illinois. When off the mat, you can find Monica exploring the city with her 6yr old, enjoying live music with her partner, and dining at local vegan friendly restaurants.
Meet raya - Massage therapist
Raya, licensed massage therapist, is a proud graduate of Chicago's New School of Massage. The massage therapy courses at the New School taught Raya the techniques & philosophies of both Eastern & Western modalities of massage, as well as the ability to treat specific conditions using massage. Raya has particular interest in deep tissue, reflexology, Shiatsu/acupressure, and trigger point massage work, and has been doing further independent study in these healing traditions. Raya also shadowed Dr. Jaclyn Amaro at Centered Chicago from Sept 2018-Mar 2019, and Raya learned so much through this exciting experience!
Coming from a background in organic-farming & small business management, Raya is grateful for the opportunity to turn her focus towards healing peoples' bodies through skillful touch. Raya believes that respecting and caring for ourselves is an important aspect of having balanced relationships with the ecosystems and communities we exist within. In her free-time, Raya loves to cook & share meals using locally-farmed ingredients, read, and do yoga.
